My role:
I am the Electronic Resources Library Specialist for the University of Mississippi Libraries. I am responsible for troubleshooting support calls that are turned in by users when they encounter issues with the electronic resources. I help to find resolutions to the issues by working with vendors or fix the problem myself. I am part of a team responsible for updating and maintaining accurate subscription information for our electronic resources (activating/deactivating titles, update coverage dates to reflect correct access, etc.). I help the Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian as needed for tasks such as journal access, database issues, and maintaining access. I communicate with multiple vendors and review licensing agreements for the Head of Continuing Resources. I work with DDA (demand driven program) e-books: MARC record loading and invoicing; watching the budget.
I am a part of the team that manages eGrove, the University of Mississippi’s digital archive and institutional repository (I.R.). I work closely with the Head of Metadata and Digital Initiatives (MDI) and the Digital Initiatives Librarian on maintaining, updating, and making accessible digital projects within eGrove. I collaborate with my colleagues to improve the accuracy, findability, and accessibility of the content stored in the I.R.
